| As you pointed out, I also believe that it is the citizens of India and Pakistan who have to suffer the most from the testing. Are the people for a nation or does a nation exist for the people? The answer is so clear. Can we call it a nation when it cannot bring happiness to its people? I know there is no progress but only a negative effect if we use violence to change the idea of a bellicose nation. Therefore, even if it may not look like a short cut, I believe a persistent discussion between the government and the people is the only way to establish solid peace. | ||||

| The issues you mentioned involve lots
of elements making them complicated and hard to analyze. Mr. Gujral, the
former Indian prime minister, stated in a newspaper that India is basically
a peace-loving country and its people do not want to have a military force.
At the same time, he was giving vent to his dilemma stemming from the sensitive
situations with other countries.
Considering the nuclear threat of China, Pakistan, and middle eastern countries, Mr. Gujral insisted that even though India does not want to possess nuclear weapons, they cannot maintain security without them. I think it is wrong to say a country needs nuclear weapons because others
possess them. I believe any intense situation can be solved through dialogs.

| I understand what you say and I know we should not interfere with other nation's policy. However, I believe that possessing a nuclear weapon is not a matter of a single country. Even though a nuclear weapon is used by one country, it can affect the lives of all human beings. I do not want this terrible weapon to be used again; therefore, I have been appealing for the abolition of nuclear weapons from a humanitarian standpoint. in the King James Bible just might come true if these two nations go to
nuclear war. History shows that these weapons do far more damage than good,
let's hope the world wakes up before it's to late stop this horrible action
from happening. If these two nations were too use there bombs the death
& destrotion would be total as the weapons have a far getter yeild
compare to the bombs dropped on Japan .
I've lived in Japan for 3 (three) years in the 70's the country side was just beaitful and the people were friendly, also which made the time we spent there a lot of fun and alot of good memories of friends and family I hope some day to comeback to visit the places where the war took place to see for myself if the price the Japanese people of the two cities was worth it . The pictures that were shown on the internet site just stuned me from the damage and death caused by the use of these weapons . The price the citizens of the United States of America & the citizens of Japan paid was far too much. Both in the guilt from the use of these weapons to the start of the Pacific war as both have the ironic statis of being a suprise to the other . This doesn't mean that it's ok to build nuclear weapons because you need them to stop or defend your country reguardless . They shouldn't be used at all Let's hope this problem between India & Pakistan gets resolved bfore we wake to this on the morning news . (THIS JUST IN INDIA HAS DROPED A NUCLEAR BOMB ON PAKISTAN REPORTS ARE STILL COMMING OUT OF THE BOMBED AERA ON DAMAGE AND THE DEATH TOLE IS 1.5 MILLON AND CLIMBING DETAILS TO FOLLOW) Then ooopps to late, this won't effect me in the slightest well they'll
be wrong it will effect the whole world Let's hope the worlds leaders can
stop this before it's to late and we GOD FORBID WAKE UP TO THAT HEADLINE

| NO.(9) | Determined to address the increasing nuclear weapons testing among developed and devolping nations. | Reply | Reference number:00029 | |
| I answer to your suggestion that my web page should include more information about the danger of the countries that are about to pull the trigger of nuclear weapons.
I will also add my following opinion to my new web page which I am working on. After India and Pakistan conducted nuclear tests, nuclear proliferation became a real threat to us, A-bomb survivors and to the world. The United States in September and December, 1998, and Russia in December, 1998, have also conducted subcritical nuclear test without actual nuclear explosions, raising concern that the five nuclear powers, too, are engaged in further nuclear proliferation. In addition to that, the world became more skeptical about the existence of underground nuclear testing sites and nuclear development in North Korea. I am looking forward to the development of the dialoges among the four concerned countries---North Korea, South Korea, the U.S., and China---but unless the nuclear powers make a clear statement to abolish nuclear weapons, the fear of nulear proliferation remains. Recently, the U.N. conference adopted a resolution of the demolition and abolition of nuclear weapons. Also, the anti-nuclear weapon's movement has become stronger since India and Pakistan became nuclear powers. I believe now is the time for us to put more energy into the nuclear abolition movement. Hiroshima must play an important role in this movement and I have also determined to work as hard as I can for world peace. We must be aware of international matters and appeal for the abolition of nuclear weapons. Let us spread our peace message to the world. |

Nuclear Club Nations doesn't needs too, against who are they thinking use them? Iran? to make radioactive the bigest oil field in the world ? oil that these nations are adicts?. Nuclear weapons are symbols of force not of intelligence. Nuclear weapons are for destroy not for defense, are the maximum level of brutality and stupidity, they represent a cheap way to kill, it demostrates the value of the life for the nations that have it. Unfortunely, "basic needs" doesn't means the same for goverments and

| NO.(7) | Multilateral talks between countries and ethnic groups are necessary. | Reply | Reference number:00027 | |
| I am also one of those who believe in
the eminent spiritual power of India. India― the cradle of Buddhism which
preaches human dignity.
India had been consistently appealing for the abolition of nuclear weapons and working towards the adoption of a treaty to abolish nuclear weapons. India, however, decided to become another nuclear power because no nuclear power paid attention to her efforts. Also for geographical and historical reasons, India had been appealing against the threat of China's nuclear weapons. Therefore, it may not be fair to blame India alone for possessing nuclear weapons. Unless nuclear powers demolish and abolish their weapons, the problem of India's nuclear weapons has no solution. Then, Pakistan competed with India to possess nuclear weapons. Again, unless the problem of India's nuclear weapons is solved, Pakistan's problem remains. It is not an easy task to solve the problems of nuclear weapons since they are complicated with different elements as described. However, we A-bomb survivors strongly believe that no matter what reason it may be, humans must not depend on nuclear weapons, but should establish a symbiotic relationship with each other. We think multilateral talks among different countries and ethnic groups are critical in spreading the idea of coexistence. Instead of worrying, let us inherit the spirit that preaches the dignity of life.
Let us muster up our courage and work together for world peace.
If our story of being exposed to radiation 53 years ago could be of any help, we, A-bomb survivors, are happy to visit India or anywhere in the world.

buildup in india and pakistan, although i feel that at that time dropping
nuclear bombs on japan was necessary and just, i feel that there is now no room left on this planet for any nuclear weapons. and i feel that all concerned contries should pressure pakistan and india into destroying thier weapons of mass destruction. and by making it clear that if either of the 2 nations should use there bombs that they will be cut off from any aid, help, sympathy etc. they are so close to each other that if they used thier bombs the wind would blow radioactive dust back and forth destroying both of thier countries and the surrounding countries and it would be suicide for them. there people are allready suffering they have no food or schools or hospitals now so spending money on nuclear wepons is foolish. i think your work is just and noble and i hope you can find some inner

the deeds of India and Pakistan. As you pointed out, I'm also furious with
the fact that people in these nations are already suffering from food shortage,
schools and hospitals shortage; and yet both nations are spending money
on nuclear weapons.
The tragedy of Hiroshima and Nagasaki should never be repeated. Any action which could lead to another occurrence of such a tragedy should be avoided at all costs. You said that all nations should pressure India and Pakistan into destroying
their weapons, and if necessary, cut them off from aid. That is one opinion.
On the other hand, India conducted nuclear tests as a counter action against
the "nuclear haves" obscure attitudes toward nuclear disarmament. In this
sense, I strongly urge countries with nuclear weapon to immediately disarm
their nuclear weapons permanently.

| While this type of thing is a horrible
nightmare, what other choice do theyhave in the world politics scene. India
remade their country to be includedin one of the many economic unions ruling
the developed world, and were consistantly ignored and left standing in
the hall, nobody would even give them a second thought, while the White
House would roll out the red carpet on the White House lawn to open armly
welcome a palestinian terrorist as a diplomat after intelegence sources
had learned of a rumoured purchase of nuclear suitcase bombs missing from
the russians. Lets face it nobody is anybody in this world without one.
With many countries being wiped out economically by the I.M.F. to prop
up the american economy it is a good move. A countries economy is directly
related to its gold and munitions.
The I.M.F. is wiping out many asian countries by demanding they pay
their dues in gold (used to hold american gold prices down) what else do
they have to fall back on. You watch India and pakistan will no longer
be ignored at the table, or shut out in the hall like they have been. Why
do you think China controls the american government and america ignores
japanscrisis. How many harbors has America given to the rest of Asia like
they have to COSCO. How many american bases has the U.S. given to asia
like theyhave China. ITS SICKER THAN SICK BUT IT IS TRUE.

| Thank you for your access to my web page.
I can never accept the idea that gold, armaments, and nuclear weapons determine a country's dignity. Although it is true that those things have become influential in today's international scene, I believe this situation needs to be changed. As an A-bomb witness, I can assert the menace of nuclear weapons. Warfare has repeatedly broken out since the dawn of history, and finally we came into an era facing a threat of nuclear weapons. What we need to do now is to learn from our past history and obtain wisdom to prevent the reoccurrence of evil warfare. We must transfer this era based on "power" to an era based on "harmony" and "love." Thought it may seem hard to change
our concept, we must hang in there for it is not an idealistic theory.
We must keep stepping forward to achieve world peace, which is the "heart
of Hiroshima."
