Chosen as one of the members for the 1st World Peace Pilgrimage, made a 5-month trip to 14 countries including the U.S., Britain, France, Germany, and the former Soviet Union to appeal for the abolition of nuclear testing. Visited the UN headquarters in New York and handed the message of Hiroshima to the former UN Under-Secretary General Ralph Bunche. Also in Geneva, handed the message to 18 representatives at the 18th National Disarmament Conference. In the United States, conducted a total of 183 rallies and appealed for the abolition of nuclear testing. |
| 1962 | As a member of the Hiroshima-Nagasaki World Peace Study Mission, visited 6 countries in Europe, the U.S. and the former Soviet Union to appeal for world peace. Sister-in-law died of valvular disease of the heart. Began raising her three bereaved children who were 5,7, and 11 years old. |

Participated in the International Peace Conference in Hague, The Netherlands, for 11 days from May 6th till the 17th. | 2000 | In May, attended the A-Bomb Exhibition held near the UN headquarters in New York where the UN Millennium Forum was held. In Detroit, held peace education classes and interviews for school children using picture-phone equipment. Visited Germany and Austria, made video tape in English and German. Spoke about experience 22 times to approx. 1,100 people in 29 days. In September, attended the "Hiroshima-Nagasaki A-bomb Exhibition" held at Santa Barbara, Ca. USA. Other than at the exhibition site, spoke 15 times to approx. 1,180 primary, junior & senior high school, and university students during 25 days from Sept. 3rd to the 27th. In November, gave talks at 2 universities and a junior high school to approx. 500 students in southern California area. (8 days) |
| 2002 | In September, joined the "Victims Speaking Tour" held in the U.S. on the first anniversary of the terrorist attack on N.Y. | 2003 | In January, an "Asian Society Forum" was held at the 'Nizan'University in Hyderabad, India. Gave talks at the forum and at nearby junior & senior high schools and universities, a total of 9 times to approx. 2,750 people in 7 days (Jan.3rd - 9th). In September, participated in the Hiroshima-Nagasaki A-bomb Exhibition held at Emory University, Rev. Tanimoto's alma mater, in Atlanta, Georgia U.S.A. Forty eight photo panels and 41 drawings were displayed. Talked about experience at junior & senior high schools and universities 7 times to approx. 1,160 people for 4 days (Sept 14th - 17th). |

| 23.September 8 to 11, 2008 | paid a courtesy visit to Nobel Peace Center with Director of Peace Memorial Museum, and talked with Director of Nobel Peace Center about future cooperation. From September 9 to 11, told her story to more than 700 listeners from school children to adults in Volda Community. At the Atomic Bomb Seminar on September 11, received words of appreciation and encouragement for survivors' peace activities from Chair of Norwegian Nobel Committee and Director of Norwegian Nobel Institute. |
